Dutch bond is a modified form of the English cross bond and consists of alternate courses of headers and stretchers.
In this arrangement of the brick bond, each stretching course starts at a quoin with a three-quarter bat.

Every alternate stretching course has a header placed next to the three-quarter bat brick provided at the quoin.
This type of bond used to create strong corners along the wall.
Dutch bond is used where corners of the walls are subjected to excess loads.
