About the Author

P.C. VARGHESE, M.S.; M.Engg. (Harvard); Ph.D.; Honorary Professor at Anna University, Chennai, was formerly Professor and Head, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Madras and UNESCO Chief Technical Advisor, University of Moratuwa, Colombo. He has been a consultant to various projects in India and abroad. He is also the author of Foundation Engineering (published by Prentice-Hall of India).
