Isometric Projection of a Cylinder

This post explains the simple steps to draw the isometric projection of a cylinder.
Let’s consider isometric projection of a cylinder is to drawn for diameter 50 mm and the axial height of 80 mm whose axial is perpendicular to HP and parallel to VP.

Draw the principal axis OA and OB of length 50 mm inclined at 30° to the horizontal base line.
Draw the principal axis OC of length 80 mm.
Project the lines and complete the isometric box.
Draw the centre lines.
Draw the ellipse on the isometric box either by four centre method or circular arc method.
Now, let’s draw using four centre method.
Join the common tangent with a straight line and thicken the visible lines.
Complete the isometric projection of cylinder with dimensioning and direction of viewing.
