This post explain about step by step instruction for drawing the isometric projection of a Frustum of Triangular Pyramid.
Let’s consider isometric projection of a frustum of a Triangular pyramid is to drawn for base edges 30 mm and 40 mm with the axial height of 60 mm whose base side resisting on HP and base edge parallel to VP.
Draw the two triangle with the base side 30 mm and 40 mm each base side resisting on HP and base edge parallel to VP.
Draw the centre lines and enclose it with a suitable rectangle.
Transfer the coordinates of a centre line to the sides of the enclosing rectangle.
Name the points as shown in the helping figure.
Draw the principal axis OA and OB inclined at 30° to the horizontal base line.
Draw the principal axis OC of length 60 mm.
Copy the length of sides of the longer helping figure's rectangle on the respective principal axis.
Project the lines and complete the isometric box.
Draw the centre line up to an upper end of the isometric box.
Copy the length of the shorter helping figure’s rectangle on the upper end of the isometric box.
Join the edges of both boxes.
Complete the isometric projection with dimensioning and direction of viewing.
