Grades of Cement // Cement Grades // Different Grades of Cement//

Grade of cement denotes the average compressive strength of cement after 28 days of setting.
It is represented in mega Pascal or Newton/mm2.
The different grades of cement are 33 grade, 43 grade and 53 grade.
In 33 grade cement, the compressive strength of cement after 28 days of setting is 33 MPa.
This type of cement is used for general construction work such as plastering, flooring, grouting of cable ducts in prestressed concrete works, etc.
In 43 grade cement, the compressive strength of cement after 28 days of setting is 43 MPa.
This type of cement is used for plain concrete work, plastering, pathway, etc.
In 53 grade cement, the compressive strength of cement after 28 days of setting is 53 MPa.
This type of cement is used for reinforced cement concrete, road, prestressed concrete, etc.
The table displayed on the screen shows the compressive strength of different grades of cement in different duration.

Compare to 53 grade, 43 and 33 grades are low cost.
Even so, 53 grade of cement is mostly used for the construction industry.

  1. Actually, the grade of cement, most of our construction standards are derived from British Standards even we were following the British education system only.
