Introduction to Drawing of Machine Parts

Many new machines were developed daily.

For instance, the spare parts of bikes are mostly joined using different forms of bolts and nuts.
The furniture’s at your home most commonly joined using screws.
These joining parts of are collectively called as fasteners.
This process of joining the two components with fasteners is called as a fastening.
The fastening process is done either temporarily or permanently.
The joining of parts using bolts, nuts and screws are called as a temporary fastening.
Whereas, joining of parts using welding, riveting etc., are called as a permanent fastening.
The permanent fastening can be separated only when broke.
These fasteners and required tools are fabricated in shops and brought to site for casting.
But sometimes, we get defect pieces.
On an average, we get 3 to 5 defect piece per 100 products.
These errors commonly occur at the shop due to various reason.
Most common reason is due to lack of clarity in the technical drawing.
These drawings are prepared by various engineers depending on the type of job.
It should be clear and perfectly marked with dimensions.
The success or failure of manufacture of the fasteners depends on the clarity of the requirements provided in the drawings.
